Participate in the free Out of the Shadows Walk - a National Suicide Prevention Walk to raise awareness and overcome the stigma surrounding suicide and suicide prevention.
An event for people of all backgrounds to come together and remember the lives lost to suicide and support those impacted by suicide. Coinciding with World Suicide Prevention Day, participants will collectively walk "Out of the Shadows" through the gardens of City Park.
The walk will culminate in a short ceremony and conversation remembering those who have been lost to suicide.
Registered walkers will receive a Launceston beanie and a battery-operated candle for the walk along with a light breakfast and tea and coffee, as the sunrises.
When: 5:45am for a 6am start, Tuesday September 10th, 2024.
Where: Walk starts and ends at the City Park Conservatory, Launceston
The Walk: Walk through the City Park Gardens along the flat, sealed footpath. A walk under 1km long and suitable for all abilities. Please prepare for variable weather conditions.
