Cavalry Road Reconstruction
The City of Launceston will be reconstructing the road on Cavalry Road in Mowbray. The purpose of this project is to renew failed assets on Cavalry Road, upgrade roadside drainage and improve traffic movements at the intersection of Remount Road.
The upcoming reconstruction works include:
- Removal of existing road seal and base layers
- Place and compact new structural road layers
- Application of asphalt road seal
- Construct/modify traffic islands
- Improvements to drainage.
Construction will be undertaken by Downer Group.

Traffic Management and Property Access
During construction, changed traffic conditions will be necessary to allow the works to be completed safely and efficiently. This will include a reduced 40km/h speed limit through the work zone and the possibility of lane closures.
The project will involve both day and night work. During night shifts, expect increased noise, vibration and lighting.
A reminder to take care while moving through work zones and follow traffic management to ensure your safety but also the safety of contractors.
Property access will be maintained throughout the duration of the project.
