UPDATED: Repairs on flood damaged infrastructure underway

Crews from the City of Launceston are continuing to work across the municipality to inspect and re-open road infrastructure, bridges and trails to the community in the wake of last week's flood event.

The Second River Road bridge near Lilydale has been re-opened to the public, but traffic management remains in place.
Underwood Rd near Underwood is closed to due to landslip, but local residents can still gain access from either end.
The Cataract Gorge Alexandra Suspension Bridge has been inspected and re-opened to the public.
The Cataract Gorge inclinator is currently closed.
The public toilets at the First Basin have been cleaned and re-opened to the public.
Black Bridge at Inveresk has been inspected and re-opened to the public.
The Seaport Pedestrian Bridge has been inspected and re-opened to the public.
The Duck Reach Suspension Bridge has been inspected and re-opened to the public.
The Lilydale Falls Reserve walking track is currently closed.
The amenities block at Lilydale Falls Reserve is currently closed.
The North Esk Trail is currently closed.
The Nunamara Waste Transfer Station will re-open to the public this Saturday, October 22 from 8am to 12 noon.
The Lilydale Waste Transfer Station will re-open to the public this Sunday, October 23 from 8.30am to 12 noon.
Motorists are asked to drive with caution on all rural roads across the municipality, with a number of road surfaces having suffered various levels of damage during the floods.
A number of trails and roads remain closed across Launceston.

Aurora Energy has announced that support is available for flood-affected customers in the North and North-West who are experiencing financial vulnerability.
The energy retailer's Customer Support Fund offers assistance including bill relief, waiving fees and charges, freezing debts, and payment plans.

The State Government has announced Emergency Assistance Grants to support people in flood affected areas.
The purpose of the Emergency Assistance Grant is to assist impacted people in affected areas, to obtain:
- essential and appropriate shelter
- clothing
- food, transport and/or
- personal items
