The City of Launceston will undertake resealing works on Trevallyn Road and Gorge Road between Kings Bridge and Bain Terrace next month.

The works will result in a full road closure on weekdays between 6.30am and 7pm from Wednesday January 8 to Friday January 17, however scheduling may be impacted by weather conditions.

Traffic detours will be in place from the Paterson Street and Margaret Street intersection through to Bain Terrace during these times, with access to all businesses along Paterson Street and Bridge Road maintained.

The road will be reopened from 7pm each working day.

City of Launceston Mayor Matthew Garwood said the resealing was an important project.

"We ask for people's patience as we undertake this essential project which will result in significant improvements to nearly a kilometre of roadway from Kings Bridge to Bain Terrace," Mayor Garwood said.

"Road users are asked to please drive with added caution during the works period and obey all signage and directions.

"Thank you for your support and understanding while we work to maintain our roads and essential infrastructure."
