As part of the City of Launceston's Sustainability Action Plan, Northern Tasmanian schools, households and businesses are being invited to take part in an online webinar exploring ways to reduce their energy use and climate impacts.

Hosted by climate education organisation ClimateClever, next week's free Zoom webinar will explore how households and organisations can measure their carbon footprint and reduce consumption, carbon emissions and costs.

City of Launceston Sustainability Officer Ariana Magini said she hoped Northern Tasmanians would take the opportunity to find out more about reducing their energy costs and reducing their impact on the environment.

"The event will detail how homes, businesses and schools can save money and reduce their emissions through the use of free online tools," Ms Magini said.

"The webinar is aimed at proving people with the knowhow to create personalised action plans, designed to deliver significant reductions in costs and emissions across electricity, gas, water and waste."

The ClimateClever webinar will be facilitated by ClimateClever founder and Chief Executive Dr Vanessa Rauland, and will be held on Tuesday, August 16 from 4pm to 5pm.
