Design for North Bank bridge selected

The City of Launceston this week approved the final design for the North Bank pedestrian and cyclist bridge across the North Esk River.
The bridge is part of the $9m North Bank redevelopment, which will see the construction of a major new all-abilities playspace, walking and cycling trails, public amenities, a new car park and much more.
The final design chosen will feature three arches, LED feature lighting, and two viewing platforms.
The bridge will provide residents with easy access to the North Bank area from the Seaport, negating the need for pedestrians and cyclists to cross the busy Charles Street bridge and detour around the flood levee.
