Hard Waste Collection
Registrations for the 2024 Hard Waste Collection have now closed.
The City of Launceston offers residents in the Launceston municipality the opportunity to dispose of unwanted hard waste items such as white goods, furniture, old televisions etc. The hard waste collection is an annual opportunity for residents to dispose of items that cannot be placed in the regular kerbside collection.
A collection charge of $10 per registration applies, this is to help offset the cost of the program and to ensure it remains a sustainable annual service for residents.
2024 Hard Waste collections have now ended, please check back next year for information on the 2025 hard waste collections.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be home for my collection?
No. The service does not require residents to be present as long as items have been left in an accessible area.
What if my hard waste wasn’t collected?
If the item is in breach of our terms and conditions, then a flyer will be left explaining why and requesting that you remove it from the kerbside as soon as possible. If no flyer was left then we ask that you wait another day, in case the contractors ran out of time, before contacting customer service on 03 6323 3000 to rectify the issue.
What if I missed out on applying for this year's collection?
Hard waste is an annual program which is historically run in March with applications open during February. If you have missed out on applying this year, you can take your waste to the Launceston Waste Centre.
