Myrtle Park Recreation Ground
Myrtle Park is a leafy woodland, with a large flat open grassy area situated on the St Patrick’s River. The park has many recreational spaces for you and your entire family.
St Leonards Picnic Ground
Discover the charm of our regional park by the North Esk River, featuring BBQ spots, picnic areas, and play equipment. Enjoy the riverside setting with an off-leash dog area and scenic on-leash walks. Here, natural beauty and recreation blend seamlessly for a memorable visit.
Walking Trails
Wind your way from Waverley via Inveresk to Heritage Forest. Grab a puppy latte on the way and soak up various Launnie vistas.

DOGGO: MURPHY
Murphy has lived around Launnie for more than a decade and is a regular sight at parks and cafes where he enjoys a quiet cuppa with his mum. He’s particularly fond of chasing tennis balls and treading the boardwalk at Royal Park. Further out of town, he enjoys plunging into the South Esk River at Perth.

City cafe strip: Upper Charles Street
Whether it’s a wine bar, bistro, burger shop or cafe for brews, most spots offer a refreshing bowl of water for thirsty pups.
Coronation Park
Down by the soccer pitch is a gated spot to socialise and test pup’s skills through tunnels and over mini mountains.
Waverley Lake Park
The spacious surrounds and off-leash exercise area make Waverley Lake Park a great place to get some fresh air.
Trevallyn Nature Recreation Area
Here you will find a large area of dry, open, grassy forests and woodland communities right on the doorstep of Launnie. The park’s large range of trails are loved by mountain bikers, hikers, runners and dog walkers.
A CHANCE TO RUN WILD
Hardwicke Street Reserve
Make a beeline for the fenced off-leash dog exercise area or explore ambient unsealed trails together.
Heritage Forest
Multi-use trails, picnic areas and a fenced off-leash dog exercise area. It's leash-on to sniff out the gorgeous Native Plant Garden.
Hoblers Bridge Reserve
Trails through native bushland and wetlands of the North Esk River are begging to be explored.
Lawrence Vale Road Reserve
In this little haven of biodiversity just southeast of the CBD, explore nature on-lead and seek out the off-leash area for free play and new friendships.
Rocherlea Recreation Ground
Take a pleasant stroll, walk or wander past the manicured sports field to the recreation ground which is a dedicated off-leash dog exercise area.
Set off on a Launnie adventure with your four-legged mate, cruising the stunning scenery of kanamaluka or frolicking through fragrant lavender in full bloom. In the Tamar Valley, share a berry-picking jaunt or unwind at picturesque vineyards, where every sip and step celebrates our laid-back, pet-friendly vibe.
For more than just walkies: test their skills on the jumps and tunnels at Coronation Park or let them make a splash at St Leonards Picnic Ground.
