HOLLYBANK TRAILS 

Just 20 minutes from Launnie, Hollybank Reserve boasts 20km of dedicated mountain bike trails, and a skills area that includes a pump-and-jump track. This unique destination serves as an ideal pit stop for riders en route to George Town or Derby.

HUB & SPOKE

Embark on a day ride to explore nearby historical towns like Longford, with its convict-era architecture and antique shops, or the idyllic village of Evandale, which comes alive every Sunday with a charming country market; both are popular and easily accessible day trips from Launceston.

Malcolm has been riding bikes around Launceston for more than 20 years. He’s a passionate advocate for bike riding in the community and is an experienced bike-tour guide. He recently acquired his very first e-bike and loves that they’re making the fun and health benefits of bike riding even more accessible. Cycleteering

Take the family on an orienteering-inspired adventure from Cataract Gorge to the Esplanade. Celebrate the day’s discoveries with lunch at Seaport or a picnic at Riverbend Park. This 6.7km ride takes about 1-2 hours. Download the clue sheet from TBUG.

Riverbend Park to Tailrace Park

Discover the joys of a 4km, family-friendly cycling adventure from Riverbend to Tailrace Park a leisurely 30-45 minute journey each way. Along the route take a moment to revel in the breathtaking views from the kanamaluka/River Tamar platform and delight in spotting the area's native residents.

TOUR DE LAUNNIE

Discover the essence of Launnie and its neighbouring wine region through these two iconic loops. Chart your adventure and find more routes at Ride with GPS.

City Sights Ride

Begin your cycling adventure at the historic Brickfields Park, followed by coffee respite on George Street and a visit to Design Tasmania for a touch of local craftsmanship. Explore off-road pathways along the scenic embankments of the North Esk River and meander through Heritage Forest. Conclude with a relaxed ride back to the city centre, taking in the beauty of kanamaluka/River Tamar. The course spans an accessible 16km and is optimally experienced in 1-2 hours, including brief stops.

White Hills Winery Loop

Enjoy a charming journey along bike-friendly urban roads that lead into the idyllic farmlands to the city's south. Traverse a 10km circuit that features stops at esteemed vineyards, where you can indulge in wines and artisanal cheeses. The route seamlessly blends captivating landscapes with cultural touchpoints, making it a perfect excursion for all seasons.
