ABCDE Social Impact Report
The City of Launceston collaborated with Bank of I.D.E.A.S to deliver six ABCDE (asset-based community driven effort) Learning Sites. The City of Launceston was one of the first Local Governments to embrace this approach, working with local leaders within the suburbs to identify, connect and mobilise their assets in order to take action, make positive change and directly shape their own community’s future.
In 2024 the City of Launceston commissioned a report by prominent researcher and anthropologist Leanne Mitchell to evaluate how the ABCDE Learning Site program has influenced and contributed to community wellbeing.

Through research and refection of the ABCDE Learning Sites, the program has evolved and the City of Launceston have developed an independent, self-governing programming model. The new iteration of the program, Launnie Connecting Community, is launching in Waverley in 2025.
