About Council

The City of Launceston's Councillors, including Mayor and Deputy Mayor, are elected by the community every four years. Our Mayor and Deputy Mayor are also elected by public vote every four years and serve for that period, but must be a Councillor to be eligible for either position.

Policy

Elections

To vote in the City of Launceston elections, you must be enrolled on the state electoral roll (Tasmanian House of Assembly Roll), with an address in the Launceston municipality, or be enrolled on the General Manager's Electoral Roll for the Launceston municipal area.
