Upcoming improvement works at Carr Villa Memorial Park

From Monday 27 July to Friday 31 July, visitors to Carr Villa Memorial Park may notice two maintenance projects taking place within the cemetery. Road and Kerbing Improvements A section of kerbing and a crossover between Lawn 2 and Lawn 3 will be replaced. The internal roadway between these areas may have restricted vehicle access while the works are underway; however, pedestrian access will remain available.

Please take extra care when walking or driving near the work area and follow any temporary signage or directions from our team.

Entrance Chapel Drainage Works Drainage will also be installed beside our historic Entrance Chapel to prevent stormwater from pooling near the building's foundations. These important works will help preserve this much-loved 120-year-old heritage building for future generations.

Our team will be working closely with contractors to minimise any disruption to visitors and funeral services.

Every effort will be made to keep the public toilets within the Entrance Chapel available throughout the project. Should temporary access be required, public toilets are also available opposite the Chapel Complex within the Ash Placement Gardens.

We thank our community for your patience and understanding as we complete these important improvements to Carr Villa Memorial Park. These projects will help ensure the cemetery remains a safe, accessible and beautifully maintained place for families and visitors, while preserving its heritage for generations to come.

Developed through an extensive process of community consultation, operational analysis, and strategic planning, the Masterplan provides a clear framework for how Carr Villa will continue to meet the evolving needs of the Launceston community. It outlines priorities for future interment capacity, environmental sustainability, infrastructure improvements, heritage conservation, and public amenity. This guiding document ensures Carr Villa remains a place of reflection, remembrance, and respectful service for generations to come.
