The team at Carr Villa understand that visiting a loved ones grave and placing tributes can be an important part of the grieving process.
However, it is extremely important that items do not create a safety risk to the community, employees, wildlife, and pets, as well disturbing the graves of others.
The main concerns encountered are tributes that are blown over in high winds and consequently break and create physical sharp hazards, as well as tributes placed on the end of the concrete beam strip, and items placed into the lawn.
Therefore, the following items are unable to be used:
- Glass products, including jars, vases, and bottles, which can easily be broken; and;
- Any tributes that are encroaching onto the lawn, and the concrete beam strip edging the lawn, which will include ceramics, flags and solar lights.
As well as the above, it is important we support and respect all family members within the facility, by ensuring all tributes are contained to each individual site.
The Carr Villa Memorial Park team routinely check the cemetery for hazards, and will remove items that have been identified in the above.
If you have any questions in relation to items, please reach out to the Client Services Team by visiting the office, calling 6323 3600 or email carrvilla@launceston.tas.gov.au.
