Carr Villa has a range of locations available for those wishing to place the ashes of a loved one within a dedicated ash placement garden.
Ash Placement Services
Beautiful landscaped gardens, tranquil pools, rose gardens, memorial walls, and granite niches, are just some of the options available to meet the needs of individuals and families. Carr Villa can also coordinate the placement of ashes within a family grave.
Our Client Services Team conducts personalised appointments with individuals and families to offer guidance on available options. Through guided tours of the placement areas, families gain an insight and a sense of each location, facilitating informed decision-making.

For those families wishing to place cremated remains within a Carr Villa ash placement location, an administration fee will apply for remains not cremated at the Carr Villa Crematorium, therefore it is suggested to request the Carr Villa Crematorium to undertake your cremation. Placements and reservations cannot be finalised until payment has been received in full.

Garden of Memories
Established in 2022, the garden showcases low granite block walls, a range of garden beds, and granite columbarium walls.
The Garden of Memories offers serene, sunlit, and central garden areas. The garden presents a changing display of cultivated hues and natural beauty throughout the seasons, accompanied by contemplative seating, easily accessible pathways, and carefully designed landscaping.
With single and double-depth placements available, this area serves as a peaceful sanctuary for contemplation and honouring cherished memories.

Rose Gardens
Rose garden memorials remain today, as they have for many years, one of the most popular forms of commemoration within the park. With over 4000 roses located throughout dedicated areas, each rose position offers an elegant natural setting to honour and reflect individuals.
Areas include an individual rose, where up to three ash interments can be placed by the family. Alternatively, garden beds with roses provide single placement space.
Claygrove
Claygrove features rock-walled cherry blossom gardens, paved pathways, and a variety of flora including deciduous trees, camellias, and roses, creating a serene ambiance suitable for the placement of ashes.
Claygrove offers diverse single and double placement options to accommodate individual preferences.

Barakee Waters
Barakee Waters offers a serene garden setting with a meandering stream flowing through three pools.
Placements, nestled amidst rock-walled gardens, provide options for single or double depth placements, however placements are limited.

Kooyong
Kooyong intertwines native flora with personalised remembrance, providing room for distinctive features, and memorial plaques.
With single garden placements available, this area harmoniously combines natural beauty with individualised tributes.

Pool of Eternal Memories
Encircled by azaleas and conifers, the Pool of Eternal Memories showcases a tranquil water feature, single placements providing a serene setting for contemplation and reflection.

Ash Placement Walls
Throughout the site, we provide several wall interment options for ash placement. These traditional spaces are strategically placed in landscaped and rose garden areas, offering single placements which vary in heights and styles.
Location areas include Northern Wall, Western Wall, Coles Bay Wall/Granite Wall, Pergola Wall and Pillars, and the Chapel Colonnade Wall.

Special Feature Ash Placement Garden
A Special Feature Garden is a circular or square edged garden created for families seeking a dedicated family location for ash placement. The focal point of the garden is a weeping tree, allowing the family to choose the type of tree as the main feature.
This garden option can accommodate up to ten ash placements.
Ash Placement into a Family Grave
Carr Villa can coordinate for ashes to be placed into a family grave. Written authorisation must be provided from the person who holds 'Exclusive Right of Burial' of the grave location, for an interment of ashes to occur.
Scattering of Ashes
Scattering ashes is a method chosen by many families to honour their loved ones.
Carr Villa provides a free scattering service, and with its well-maintained site, there are numerous tranquil and peaceful options available for families. Additionally, Carr Villa offers a diverse selection of urns for families who prefer to retain the ashes with them.
