Major Projects

The City of Launceston has a series of major projects underway which intend to revitalise the municipality, benefit our community and boost the economy.

Council is also embarking on an initiative to attract more people to live in the central business district, where space (particularly above shops) is underutilised. You can read more in the Inner City Living Fact Sheet.

The City of Launceston Strategic Priority Projects(PDF, 2MB) direct the strategic advocacy of the Council in its engagement with the State and Federal governments and the community. These projects collectively promote the economic, social and environmental growth and sustainability of the City of Launceston. These priority projects deliver on the policy directions and objectives of the Greater Launceston Plan and link with the Launceston City Deal.
